Bronchitis - an inflammation of bronchuses. Allocate an acute bronchitis, an acute bronchiolitis (a primary inflammation of distal departments of a bronchial tree - bronchioles) and the chronic bronchitis, described with a diffusive lesion of corresponding departments of a bronchial tree.
The acute bronchitis can be primary and secondary. Primary develops as independent disease, thus pathological process begins in bronchuses and is limited only to them.
Disease begins with unpleasant sensations behind a breast bone, feelings of weakness, a flaccidity. Soon there is a dry morbid tussis; it can sometimes have paroxysmal character. In 1-3 days the mucous or mucopurulent sputum starts to depart.
At long fits of coughing the headache and a giddiness are possible. The body temperature quite often remains normal, at a part sick a bronchitis it raises up to subfebrile. In the first days of disease in lungs the absent-minded dry rhonchuses are auscultated.
The acute bronchitis usually comes to an end with clinical convalescence within 2-3 weeks. Clinical convalescence does not coincide with restoration of functional parameters; function of external respiration and bronchial permeability, as a rule, are restored within a month.
Treatment of bronchitis.
Treatment of a bronchitis is in most cases spent in out-patient conditions. Hospitalization is necessary at a grave condition of the patient (for example, at the expressed obstructive syndrome, development of a pneumonia).
The room where there is a patient, should be aired well. smoking is forbidden. plentiful drink Is recommended: hot tea with a lemon, honey, crimson jam, warm alkaline mineral waters.
In the first days of illness the good effect is given with Sinapismuses, banks, a spirituous compress on a thorax, hot foot baths, grinding of a breast by Unguentum Terebinthinae. At dry excruciating tussis appoint Codeinum with Natrii hydrocarbonas or Libexinum. If the sputum departs hardly, expectorants are necessary: tablets of Mucaltinum, inhalation of a solution of 2% a nutria of a hydrocarbonate or warm alkaline mineral waters.
For elimination of a bronchospasm use bronchuses dilating agents: the Euphyllinum, ephedrine, an Euspiranum, Isadrinum, etc. Under indications apply antipyretic and anaesthetics. Vitamins C are recommended and A.Pri serious disease is appointed with antibiotics and Sulfanilamidums.
